A Chateau In France For Your Ultra Fashionable Destination Wedding

You can be like Eva Longoria star of "Desperate Housewives" and Tony Parker NBA basketball champion and hold your destination wedding in France.

Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to be able to sell your wedding photos for 2 million to have a fairytale french castle wedding.

A castle wedding is becoming incredibly fashionable and they are now all the rage following the weddings of Madonna, Tom Cruise, David Beckham and Eva Longoria and Tony Parker. But you do not need to be a celebrity to get married in France. Anyone can rent a chateau and get married in France and have a fairytale french wedding.

Eva and Tony held their wedding reception at 17th Century Chateau Vaux-le- Vicomte one hour south east of Paris. This luxury privately-owned chateau near the village of Maincy is said to have inspired Versaille. Louis XIV had its creator Nicolas Fouquet imprisoned for the rest of his life, because he did not like the guests applauding someone else, or visiting a home more luxurious than his old palaces. This envy fuelled his desire to destroy his then finance minister who wound up spending the rest of his life imprisoned.

There is a famous saying about Nicolas Fouquet by Voltaire regarding the opening of Chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte in 1661: "On 17 August, at six in the evening Fouquet was the King of France: at two in the morning he was nobody.”

OK! secured the exclusive deal for the wedding at a reputed cost of 2 million dollars.

The civil ceremony was conducted by non-other than the mayor of Paris on the Friday. The couple held their religious ceremony on the 7th July 2007 at a 16th century cathedral opposite the Louvre.

The privately owned chateau was shielded from prying eyes by 8 miles of high stone walls. A small troupe of guards were called in to lock down the sprawling, 1,235-acre grounds, and a public road leading to the chateau was sealed off for the wedding reception.

After the ceremony there was a fountain show within the French style gardens. When darkness fell guests admired the spectacular views of the Chateau and the surrounding grounds by candlelight. More than 2,000 candles were lit throughout the Chateau and gardens to create the romantic effect.

Tony booked Eva's favourite singers, Lionel Richie and Jamie Foxx, to perform at the ceremony as a surprise It's the second time this month that Lionel has filled the role as wedding singer having sung at the wedding of English captain John Terry last weekend. Other guests at their big day included Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones and Eva's Desperate Housewives co-stars and Tony’s Spurs team mates.

Live Like A Celebrity And Say I Do In A Castle Wedding

Saying "I do" in a castle wedding is as fashionable as carrying the latest Louis Vuitton handbag for Hollywood celebrities today.

Destination weddings are a thriving business with 16% of U.S. brides choosing them last year, up 400% ten years ago.

Marrying in a castle means "becoming part of a fairytale," says Mindy Weiss, Eva Longoria’s wedding planner “You're walking into a chapter of a romance novel."

Apparently the Material Girl Madonna (Skibo Castle in 2000) and Spice Girl Victoria Adams (Irish castle wedding in 1999) are credited with heightening interest in "castle weddings" with pomp and circumstance.

Last autumn, the castle wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes inspired many a bride to put a castle wedding on her wish list.

Interest in the Odescalchi Castle has soared since Tom and Katie held their wedding there. Skibo Castle has a waiting list with hopeful brides paying a $40,000 initiation fee prior to a wedding booking.

Eva Longoria and Tony Park's wedding on the auspicious 7th July 2007 at Chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte has only fueled the trend. When a celebrity wedding in an exotic location makes headlines people see it and want to copy it.

While the price tag for a celebrity castle wedding often runs well over a $1 million your typical chateau wedding can be done for far less. European chateaux are being booked by non-celebrities in hoardes.

According to Brides editor in chief Millie Martini Bratten, “The average U.S. wedding costs $27,850”. The 2006 average price tag of a destination wedding was $25,800, plus travel and hotel costs. Away-from-home weddings can be cheaper, because there are typically are fewer guests to wine and dine. The guests for a hometown event average 165 and 47 for an overseas location. However, a destination wedding at a luxury lodging attended by 30-40 people might run to $30,000-$40,000 a day, not including airfare.

Chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte was created by Nicolas Fouquet, then finance minister to Louis XIV and opened on August 17, 1661. For the King to witness such applause going to someone else, to visit a home more luxurious than his old palaces and a magical garden, were trials for his self-esteem that were hard to endure, and they fuelled Louis XIV’s desire to destroy Fouquet. He was arrested two weeks later and never left prison.

Chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte is said to have inspired Versailles and is no stranger to over-the-top festivities. The chateau hosted the wedding of Indian steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal's daughter, claimed to be the most expensive nuptials of all time at a reported $55 million.

Typically only three weddings a year are held at the chateau. Renting the facilities for five hours will set you back upwards of $47,596. Eva and Tony have contracted a two-day rental so that the massive crew of construction workers, decorators and security guards could get everything perfect for the big day. Eva’s lavish wedding will be splashed on the pages of OK! magazine for a reported 2 million dollar exclusive deal which will help cover the costs of their nuptials. You do not need to be able to sell your wedding photos for 2 million to have a French fairytale wedding.

Anyone, especially non-celebrities can rent a chateau and get married in France and have a fairytale castle wedding of their dreams.

Top Wedding Tips: Destination Wedding Activities

As brides get more imaginative in wedding planning, weddings in far off destinations are becoming ever more in demand. Although this normally results in a reduced list of wedding guests, it opens up opportunities for fun activities.

Many brides long to have their wedding seaside, so they locate the ceremony to a beach locale, either on their local coast or somewhere more exotic like Hawaii or the Bahamas. In any event, there are many activities that can be arranged around this theme. If the wedding ceremony is also a weekend happening where guests will be around for morethan just the celebration, the bride could arrange a sailing excursion. Why not rent a boat for a day and bring your wedding guests out on the water to swim or relax, and maybe enjoy a meal on board or on the beach.

If the wedding is in the Caribbean, how about a cookery demonstration? The bride could organize for thewedding guests to enjoy a cooking demonstration put on by the hotel or a local cook. Since much of the food the guests eat while visiting for the wedding will be very different from what they eat back home, they might like learning how to prepare it at home.

Say the ceremony is on a Hawaiian island, another popular wedding spot. Here, you could organize several activities around the location. What about a luau? This could even take the place of a more conventional or formal sit down rehearsal dinner.

Also in Hawaii, wedding guests will like a hula lesson.

Other pre-wedding activities could be shopping excursions and guided tours and wine tasting activities, where appropriate. If you decide to offer any of these activities keep in mind that the bride and groom, or their family, are expected to pay for the majority or all of them. If you organize a sailing excursion, for example, you are expected to pick up the cost for the outing. Do not tell guests ahead of time that the activity will be x dollars. That won’t sit well.

As one of the great assets of the destination wedding ceremony is that only your dearest family and friends will share the moment with you, you may set up some meaningful activities that you wouldn't set up if the wedding was a larger occasion. For example, you could organize a slumber party night with close friends that includes movies, drinks and popcorn in your hotel room, villa or cottage, depending on where the wedding is being held.

Naturally, if you pick a destination wedding, for many guests this might become their vacation. In which case you might not want to plan too many activities but instead let the guests to find their own entertainment and activities both before and after the ceremony.

Wedding Floral Arrangements Ideas And Options

The arrays and choices for flower arrangement are as varied as the colors the flowers come in. Floral arrangements can be simple or as unique and novel as you like, depending on preference, theme and budget. Be ready to research on ideas bring across your desires clearly. Bear in mind that you will have to keep floral arrangements and decorations within the budget.

For the more creative bride to be there is always the option of designing the floral arrangements herself. Or enlist some family and friends to help with the brainstorming and creation of the flowers for the perfect day. Making the arrangements can be a stress reliever and is actually quite fun to do. You will be able to take great pride in the outcome of your flowers as you were able to add your personal touch to each arrangement. This is also a wonderful way to be sure you stay within the budget for the flowers.

You do not want to wait until the last minute for the flowers. Be sure you allot ample time for the flowers to be arranged, if at all possible a minimum of six months is ideal. The majority of brides prefer the color of the flowers match the color scheme of the wedding itself. However, it is not necessary to do this, if the color scheme of the wedding is a pale purple, other pastel colors will look great. Bridal magazines are a repository of good ideas and inspiration. Put them to good use and look at the floral arrangements and color schemes within them. This is another way to open your mind to new ideas and possibilities.

The season in which you are getting hitched is also an important factor to consider when choosing the flowers for your wedding bouquet. The florist will be able to get the flowers you want for the wedding no matter what time of year it is, but there will more than likely be a cost for getting flowers that are not in season. Getting flowers that are in season will help you in staying within your budget.

If you feel you are under budget with your flowers and think you might want to add more flowers, you can. Take a look at the location of the ceremony, could you have flowers inside of bows lining the isle that you will be walking down? They make beautiful taking points and color to the reception tables as well as a sense of romance and in awkward corners, they add a sense of cosiness to it. As you can tell, the possibilities are virtually endless for flowers, no longer are they just for the wedding party.

In case you realize you are going over budget and want to make a slight alteration and cutback that no one will notice, put those wedding party flowers to a second use. After reaching the reception the ladies flowers can be strategically placed on the head table as the decorations. Placing a candle inside the flowers can add a sense of romance and save you a buck or two! Another option could be to bring those bows from the ceremony to the reception and have them on the head table as the decorative pieces. Of course, you will have to have a trusted person gather it all up and get them on the tables before the guests arrive.

For the most part, planning is key in the decorations and flowers at your wedding. After you have made your decisions on the flowers you will need to make them your reality. Either by finding a florist that can do what you want for a price you are willing to pay, or pulling your "Martha Stewart" friends and family members in for some help.

If you decide to hire someone to do the flowers for you, be sure to fully read and understand the contract before you sign it. Make sure it is clearly stated exactly what you want and the price is what has been previously discussed. Have the florist not only explain the payment arrangements and delivery schedule but also have it clearly stated in the contract before signing it.

Planning Unique Weddings in Prescot Az

Prescott Arizona weddings can be some of the most beautiful in the state.

However, weddings in Prescot AZ, although not the most expensive in the state, still require a fair amount of careful planning to make sure you don't break the bank. As you begin to research and interview various vendors, make sure to ask specific questions and be certain they give you complete answers. It is very important that each step of your wedding is planned in detail. The wedding of your dreams not only deserves, but also requires, attention to detail.

The most costly portion of the day for any wedding is the wedding reception. The first step is to determine where the reception will be held. There are many different venues for wedding receptions in Prescott including resorts, restaurants, large hotels, church sanctuaries, lakes and just about anywhere else that you can get permission to hold an event the size of your wedding reception. Once you have determined the location, you must make decisions about the menu. For weddings in Prescott, there are two types of caterers, the in-house and the off premise. The off premise caterers tend to be a bit more competitive than those in-house, but sometimes it is more convenient to go with a package from the locations event coordinator.

Choosing the type of wedding cake you will have at your reception is no longer a simple task. Traditionally, white cake with vanilla frosting has been a staple at wedding receptions. However, for weddings in Prescot AZ today the choices are almost endless! There are many options for decorating your wedding cake as well. Although you should certainly look for good pricing for your cake, this is one place we recommend that you don't skimp, both for your sake as well as your guests. Choosing the right baker or wedding cake artist can be one of the most important, and rewarding, things you can do for your special day.

As we said before, Prescott Arizona weddings can be both beautiful and memorable. But no matter where you choose to have your wedding, remember that proper planning will be the key to the success of this special and important day. Just be sure to follow these guidelines and spend the extra time it takes to plan things right, and you'll be enjoying the wedding of your dreams!

Considering Your Wedding Location

You would think that being a wedding planner would be a great opportunity to see people at their best. After all, what is more beautiful than young love? Nevertheless, the truth is far from pleasant. As a wedding planner, I see some of the worst aspects of human nature. You see, everyone has a vision of their wedding, and no one wants to let reality get in the way. Some people have been dreaming of the best wedding location since they were five years old. Others are even worse, having a specific vision of what the toasts will be about, and what everyone will say about them. Basically, weddings are an opportunity for unbridled vanity and childishness. So much for true love!

Strangely enough, the most difficult part of planning a wedding is picking the location. Once you have picked wedding locations, you are halfway there. You wouldn't think it would be that hard. You would think that people would consider factors of climate, for example, to decide on wedding reception locations. In this business, you always need to have a backup plan, after all. If, for example, you want to have an outdoor wedding in Portland during the rainy season, you had better make sure that it is nowhere near the coast, and you had better make sure that you have a backup hall rented just in case.

Yet clients don't want to hear that. They want to hear that the wedding planner can make everything perfect. If I didn't know better, I would think that some of my past clients have blamed me for the weather going wrong! Some of them choose the most outlandish wedding locations you could think of. They decide to get married, for example, at the end of a steep climb up in the foothills, and then complain when their eighty year old aunt can't find a handicapped accessible path. This, after all, is the perfect day. It is my responsibility to see that it turns out perfectly, and any flaw in perfection is my fault, or so they would have me believe. Somehow, I am supposed to make up for their poor choices of wedding locations.

I always tell them to save the exotic locations for their wedding honeymoon. Wedding locations should be in someplace pleasant, practical, and above all easily accessible. A lot of people don't realize how hard it is to pull off a wedding without something going wrong. It isn't worth betting the success of your wedding party that everyone will be able to climb up to whatever scenic cliff-edge you were at when you first fell in love!
